Terms of Service

Effective August 11, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website and services of Life Beyond Addiction Foundation ("the Foundation," "we," "us," or "our"), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 33-4613201). By accessing or using our website, submitting a scholarship application, or making a donation, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

Our Mission and Services

The Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises and distributes charitable funds to remove financial barriers to recovery-related programs, treatment, and transformational healing. Our website provides information about our mission, programs, and impact, and allows visitors to make donations and submit scholarship applications.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian, to make a donation or submit a scholarship application on our website. By using our website, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.

Donations

  • Donations made to the Foundation are voluntary contributions to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and are generally tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax advisor regarding your specific situation.
  • Donations are processed by a third-party payment processor. By donating, you agree to that processor's applicable terms in addition to ours.
  • Except where required by law or in cases of payment error, donations are non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, please contact us and we will work with you in good faith to resolve the issue.
  • We reserve the right to decline or return a donation at our discretion, including if we determine that accepting it would be inconsistent with our mission or values, or if the gift is designated for a purpose we cannot fulfill.
  • Recurring donations may be modified or canceled at any time by contacting us or, where available, through your donor account.

Scholarship Applications

  • Submitting a scholarship application does not guarantee funding. Awards are made at the sole discretion of the Foundation's board of directors, based on available funds, program criteria, and the information provided in the application.
  • You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and complete information in your application. We reserve the right to deny, rescind, or request additional documentation for any application if we believe information provided is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Scholarship funds, when awarded, are generally paid directly to the treatment provider, program, or other qualifying organization on the applicant's behalf, rather than to the applicant personally, unless otherwise stated in the award.
  • The Foundation is not a treatment provider and does not provide medical, clinical, legal, or financial advice. Any information shared through our scholarship program is for the purpose of determining and administering financial assistance only.

Website Use

You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information in any donation or application.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our website or servers.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our website, systems, or data.
  • Use our website to transmit any harmful, unlawful, or infringing content.

Intellectual Property

The content on our website — including text, graphics, logos, images, and the Foundation's name and symbol — is owned by or licensed to the Foundation and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and share content from our website for personal, non-commercial purposes, but you may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or otherwise use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

Third-Party Links and Services

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or use third-party services (such as payment processors) that are not owned or controlled by the Foundation. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party sites or services. Your use of those sites and services is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.

No Warranty

Our website and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any information on the website is complete, accurate, or current.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Foundation, its board members, officers, employees, and volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our website or services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective" date above indicates when these Terms were last revised. Continued use of our website or services after any changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the Foundation is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
